Community Insight Consortium
Purpose & Mission
The Community Insight Consortium is a collaborative network that brings together community members, educators, families, and researchers to improve early childhood assessment and intervention practices.
Our mission is to ensure that assessment tools and intervention strategies are culturally responsive, linguistically appropriate, and truly beneficial to the diverse communities they serve.
By centering community voices and expertise, we create more effective, equitable, and meaningful approaches to supporting early childhood development across diverse populations and contexts.
Consortium Overview Video
Community-Based Participatory Research Approach
The Community Insight Consortium operates on principles of Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), a collaborative approach that equitably involves community members in all aspects of the research process.
Equitable Partnership
We recognize community members as equal partners with unique expertise, not just as research subjects. All partners contribute to and share decision-making power throughout the research process.
Co-Learning Process
Researchers and community members learn from each other, with academic expertise and community wisdom equally valued in creating new understanding and knowledge.
Community Benefit
Our work aims to directly benefit the communities involved through actionable findings, capacity building, and sustainable solutions to locally identified challenges.
